    The Walburgis Church and Librije are closed to visitors.

* The Walburgis Church may be closed due to private hire for a funeral, wedding or other event. This will be announced on this page. Please always check this page before your visit to avoid disappointment.
** In the months of June, August and September, the church is regularly open on Sunday afternoons through the Protestant Congregation of Zutphen; please see their website for more information.
*** On Saturday afternoons, organ practice regularly takes place on the Bader organ in preparation for the market concerts held in July and August.

Please note:

  • The opening of the tower depends on weather conditions.
  • You can climb the tower up to 30 minutes before closing time; after that, access is no longer possible.
  • Climbing the tower is at your own risk.
  • Children under 12 may only climb the tower when accompanied by an adult.

Guided tours

A guided tour of approximately 40 minutes departs every hour for a maximum of 8 people. Reservations are not possible; please report to the reception desk for the next available spot. Preferably arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Group tours

Groups of 8 or more people can reserve in advance for the Walburgis Church and Librije, and 6 people for the tower. Groups will be divided into subgroups of a maximum of 8. Tours outside opening hours are sometimes possible. For more information or to make a reservation: via the form or info@walburgiskerk.nl.

Ring the bells yourself?

The bell-ringers’ guild of Saint Walburga rings the bells every Saturday at 18:00 and on Sunday morning at 09:30. You can help – this is free of charge, although donations are appreciated. Please register 15 minutes in advance at the foot of the tower.

We are entirely dependent on our own income and donations. By paying admission, you help us maintain the Walburgis Church, ensuring that this unique location remains accessible to everyone.
Discounts on admission prices are only granted upon presentation of the relevant pass or card.

Audiotour

With the free audio tour, you will discover all the treasures of the Walburgis Church. The Librije is not included and can only be visited with a guide.

The Walburgis Church is easily accessible for people with physical disabilities, with the exception of the Librije. There is also an accessible toilet.
